The image to the left is the game board after I hit 3 “Free Fall” symbols. These must be hit in succession from left to Right. This opens the 10 free spins mode. We have Gonzo a sour escort throughout the game. His movements and reactions to different situations seams very natural and spontaneous. It really doesn’t feel like he is programed. He is joyful to the extreme when we win coins. He runs around scooping up doubloons in his helmet. Then ushers us into the free spin mode, and generally is there to entertain us the entire ride.

I congratulate NetEnt software provider for their excellent job in creating a very different and exciting slot game. I haven't seen this much innovation and uniqueness since the release of Ghost Pirates some 8 months ago. With Gonzo’s Quest we break tradition entirely with the spinning reels normally incorporated in 99,99% of today's slot games. Ghost Pirates also broke the mold when it was released with NO BET LINES. So once again fresh wind is blowing over the industries main sails, past the bulwark and over the sandy beach. NetEnt's graphics are always first class but I note special care in creating this slot game. The very human movements of the half gone Gonzo are animated and convincing. His small gestures while waiting for new spins really place me bonded with his personality. AND the slot game plays well. By this I mean, the way the symbols fall into place replacing spins, is  exciting and suspenseful. You can see the symbols gathering and pointing to a win before it does or does not hit. This keeps you on the edge of your seat most of the time.

Gonzo’s Quest Slot Game Practicalities of Play


I have completed a number of sets of 100 spins to analyze the frequency of payouts. When the symbols fall or avalanche there will many times be a betline with 3 or more symbols starting from the far right going to the left. This is a "win". The winning symbols explode and disappear leaving an empty space. The upper symbols fall or avalanche downward filling the vacant space. At this point the multiplier goes up one notch to give the second set of symbols a higher multiplier. If another betline is won then the multiplier goes up again. This will continue until the max amount of multipliers is reached. The max multiplier is 5 on normal spins. But if you are in a free fall mode you can reach up to a multiplier of 15. Needless to say this could lead to a very large win of coins. What I have found is that the normal falls do not give a lot of large betline wins. The money is returned to the player within the free fall mode. So you can expect this through out the game play. In my experience these free falls occurred on the average every 125 spins. I placed 500 spins at max bet and hit the free falls 4 times. You can see these wins posted below.

Left Image: Notice the 2500 multiplier for hitting 5 symbols on the upper left.

Center Image: Notice it says that the Fee Fall Symbol must be on an active betline from left most to the right. This will open the 10 free fall mode. Normally this is accomplished or assigned to a scatter symbol. But because these symbols need to be on an active betline and not "scattered" through out the board it can not be called a "scatter". Also note the wild symbol does not pay out extra for having more than 2. This is because of the huge multipliers in the consecutive free fall mode lets players win a LOT of coins. so the designers needed to be conservative in other sectors.
