The Alexa Rating & What is it?
Alexa is a free service that provides information, compares and ranks all web sights on the internet. Alexa is NOT dedicated to Casinos only. It rates every web site no matter what content it has. There are approximately 30,000,000 web sites in total. Alexa will, among other things, give you a ranking to see exactly where a particular web site rates in comparison with these 30,000,000 sites. So the lower the number the stronger the web site.
Larger established sites rank above 100,000. The main graph you see below begins at that number. If it ranks lower you can see a lot of other pertinent info but it will not make a dent in the graph. Since the example I am using here rates at 39,798 it is well within this range.
Alexa is a very good indicator of exactly how strong the company is. If a casino is strong and has a lot of traffic you can generally have confidence that they got that way by having good public relations and have treated players well to sustain growth and stability. It is not a full proof method but it is another one way to evaluate whom you are about to play with.
On the very bottom of this chart you can see that most of the players are from Norway. From the graph you can tell there was a very large promotion in February of 2009 and that after wards they maintained a higher level of activity than before the event. I would suggest just looking at different available information by clicking on different headers to see how Alexa works. Just the 39,798 ranking says a lot.
Click on the Demographics Tab when you are actually in Alexa’s web page. It gives excellent info on the age group, sex and other interesting facts related to the players that logs onto the casino. The REACH tab and the TIME ON SITE tab are two other good indicators of viewers interest in the web page content.
Click here to visit Alexa and check out the usopen compared to wimbledon. It will give you some interesting data. I love charts and numbers. Don’t you?
